Odour control treatments are an effective solution as they enable us to wash less and at lower temperatures without compromising on comfort and hygiene. Having this in mind, Devan has developed a non-biocidal odour control solution named Devan® Fresh S1. This finish technology is based on a naturally occurring mineral ingredient.

Devan® Fresh S1 absorbs sweat malodours and it is recharged upon washing. We have been evaluating the performance onto a wide range of substrates against isovaleric acid (IVA) and acetic acid (AA), used as sweat odorant surrogates through an internal adaptation of the EN ISO 17299-2 and 17299-3.
As we mature, our body loses its ability to fight oxidation, and one of the results is the organic compound called, 2-nonenal, and it has a distinctive smell. Devan Fresh S1 absorbs ageing related malodours, and it is recharged upon washing cycles. We have been evaluating the performance on a wide range of substrates against 2-nonenal used as ageing smell odorant following the ISO standard: 17299-3: 2014 – Determination of deodorant property.
